Overview
The 5 minute study warm-up is taken from a research based study technique from Project CRISS.
Research has found that students remember information that is presented or studied in small
increments over a longer period of time rather than "cramming" information into the short term
memory. 5 minutes studying daily allows the information go to the long term memory
How does it work?
As students enter the room they are asked to review the material (countries) learned the previous
day. We then, as a class, review the previous information and add three new facts. Individual
students volunteer to come to the board and review all the information independently. The class
then resumes with the 6th grade curriculum.
